About Me

Cassidy Grubisic

Hello, and thanks for visiting my website. Whatever you are here for, I’m glad you made it!

My name is Cassidy. I am originally from the small town of Elkhart Lake, WI. Upon graduating first in my class from Howards Grove High School, I moved to Des Moines, IA to attend Drake University. Now I am a 3rd-year student who is currently pursuing a triple major in Digital Media Production, Magazine Media, & History with a minor in Spanish.

I am passionate about creating content for innovative brands and organizations that are focused on making the world safer, cleaner, and more equitable for those inhabiting it. My goal is to make exploration, nature, culture, and history accessible through multimedia storytelling. By bringing the world to the average person’s fingertips, I will be able to raise awareness and inspire action from my audience. I have come to realize that it is nearly impossible to get people to care about issues they don’t have any connection to. My goal is to create that connection through my work.

When I am not studying, you can find me wandering the aisles of a bookstore, cocooned in a fuzzy blanket to watch a movie, cooking up a delicious vegetarian entree, or planning my next adventure.

In the summer of 2021, I had the privilege to experience the adventure of a lifetime in the Galapagos Islands. There, I volunteered as a social media manager for Intercultural Outreach Initiative. Besides working, I had the opportunity to live with a wonderful family, brush up on my Spanish, and experience many wildlife encounters. You can check out my photography from the trip here.

Currently, I am working with Iowa’s Rabbit Rescue as a social media intern. So far, I have performed a media audit, developed a social media strategy, and have acted as the organization’s photographer. I hope to also grow their Instagram presence and expand their blog by the end of the internship.

On-campus, I have had the privilege to work as a writer and photographer for Drake Magazine. I am currently serving on the executive council for Drake Mosaic (a student organization dedicated to helping international students transition into college life at Drake) and as an IMAC (a peer mentor for international students). I am also acting as the archives and digital projects assistant for the University Archives.

Within my site, you will find evidence of my variety of interests ranging from photography to writing to travel. If you like what you see, I am always open to opportunities to collaborate or work for new companies and brands. You can contact me here.
